Tao
Wisdom
(

When pursuing knowledge, you will
experience a daily increase. But, when pursuing
the Dao, you will experience a daily decrease –
less and less every day, until you arrive at the
realm of non-action.

Once there was a man who hated
his own shadow. When he walked and found that his
shadow was close behind him, he began to walk faster
and faster. But the faster he moved, the closer
his shadow came. So he ran like a madman, and in
the end, he dropped dead.
Those who do not understand the
Tao are just like the man who hated his shadow.
It is actually very easy to be rid of one's shadow
– just rest under a tree. Just rest!

To exercise no-thought and rest
in nothing is the first step toward resting in Tao.
To start from nowhere and follow no road is the
first step toward attaining Tao.

Remember: if you can cease all restless
activity, your integral nature will appear.
* * *
Nothing is better than the wordless
teaching and the advantage of non-action.
* * *
Understanding the good and the bad
in other people is merely intelligence,
while understanding one's own nature is true enlightenment.

We sit together, the Mountain and
I, till... only the Mountain remains.
* * *
Trying to understand is like trying
to see through muddy water.
Be still and allow the mud to settle.
